Meet Our Black Label Argentine Chateaubriand (Fillet Head)

Cut from the thick butt end (head) of our award-winning Black Label Argentine Fillet, this exceptional whole-piece cut — traditionally known as Chateaubriand — showcases the tenderloin at its most generous and expressive.

Sourced from the same Hereford and Angus cattle crowned World’s Best Grass-Fed Fillet at the 2024 World Steak Challenge, this cut carries all the hallmarks of elite Argentine beef: purity of flavour, buttery texture, and impeccable consistency.

Raised on the vast Pampas Plains, the cattle graze freely on nutrient-rich native grasses in a clean, open environment — a natural, low-stress lifestyle that plays a crucial role in developing the fillet’s signature softness and clean, elegant taste. As the animals mature, they are carefully finished on a grain-enhanced diet, enriching the meat with gentle marbling and adding depth without compromising its lean character.

The Chateaubriand is prized for its substantial size and consistent thickness, making it ideal for roasting and serving whole, then sliced at the table. While more natural in shape than centre-cut steaks, it delivers outstanding tenderness and an elegant, shared dining experience.

This is a single, large cut — not individual medallion steaks — designed as a centrepiece for two, where theatre, refinement, and purity of flavour take precedence.

Hand-selected and expertly butchered, this Black Label Rioplatense Chateaubriand fillet head delivers restaurant-level quality with unmistakable Argentine heritage.

Why Choose Our Argentine Chateaubriand?

  • World's Best Fillet: Taken from the same cattle as our award-winning fillet, ensuring exceptional tenderness, flavour, and provenance.

  • Perfectly Portioned: Each steak is expertly butchered, providing the ideal portion for 2 people for a satisfying meal. Since weights can vary slightly, pricing is accurately adjusted to reflect the exact weight, ensuring you always get fair value.

  • Freshly Frozen: We freeze our Chateaubriand's at the peak of freshness to seal in the rich flavours and essential nutrients. This process ensures that you enjoy a premium steak experience as if it had just come from the butcher.

  • Culinary Flexibility: Our Chateaubriand's are wonderfully tender and subtly flavoured, making them incredibly versatile for any cooking method you prefer. Whether it's a quick sear on a hot grill or a slow cook in a gourmet sauce, these steaks are sure to impress.

  • A Healthier Choice: Lean yet packed with flavour, our Chateaubriand offers a protein-rich meal without excess fat, aligning with your health-conscious lifestyle without sacrificing taste.

Cooking Tips

To get the most out of your Chateaubriand, allow it to thaw slowly in your refrigerator before cooking. Season it simply to highlight its natural flavours, or get creative with marinades and spices. Cook it to your liking, but remember—a few minutes on each side should do to keep all its juices locked in. Rest it before slicing to let all those delicious flavours redistribute evenly.

Our Packaging and Delivery Commitment

Every steak is vacuum-sealed individually and packed with care in our state-of-the-art, insulated packaging that guarantees it stays frozen until it reaches your kitchen. We're committed to delivering excellence not just in our products but in our service too.

Order your Black Label Argentine Chateaubriand (Fillet Head) today and bring a taste of Argentine luxury right to your dinner table. Whether you're planning a special meal for the family or treating yourself after a long week, this steak is sure to make it memorable.

*Please note: the chateaubriand shown in the image does not come with butcher's string tied; this is for presentation purposes only. Additional trimming may be required before cooking.

Our Chateaubriand comes from the head (butt) end of the fillet — the thickest, widest, and most uniform part of the tenderloin. This prized section is naturally tender, with a buttery-soft texture, gentle marbling, and clean, elegant flavour, making it one of the most desirable cuts of beef.

Perfectly suited for roasting whole and slicing at the table, or for cutting into generous, evenly sized portions, the fillet head delivers all the refinement of the full fillet with a slightly richer mouthfeel. Lean yet luxurious, this Chateaubriand is a true centrepiece cut, ideal for special occasions or any moment when only the best will do.

Cut To The Steak

Our Black Label Argentine Fillet is a truly premium cut. It's celebrated for its buttery texture and exceptional flavour, which helped it win the World Steak Challenge in 2024. We source it from Argentina's finest cattle, raised on lush, open pastures, ensuring unparalleled quality.

Your order is vacuum-sealed for freshness and packed in an insulated thermal box with ice packs. This keeps the meat chilled for up to 48 hours during delivery to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Please note frozen products will begin to thaw during delivery, as our boxes keep items cool but not fully frozen.

We deliver to most of mainland UK (England, Wales, and parts of Scotland).

If the cut you purchased is fresh, then yes—you can freeze it. Our thermal boxes are designed to keep products cool during delivery, maintaining a chilled temperature for up to 72 hours in transit.

Please note that our boxes are not designed to keep frozen products fully frozen during transit. Frozen items will begin to thaw once dispatched from our warehouse, even when packed in thermal boxes with ice packs.

If your product is frozen and arrives thawed out, we do not recommend refreezing it. If it arrives semi thawed or cold to the touch, it is suitable to freeze. Alternatively, cook it as soon as possible. After cooking, you can freeze your dish and store it in the freezer for later use.

While some of our meat products have a long shelf life, we don’t recommend storing them in a domestic fridge for that full period. Frequent opening causes temperature fluctuations that can affect freshness.

Our warehouse uses commercial refrigeration to keep meat at the optimum temperature. Once delivered, if you plan to use it within three days, it’s fine to keep in your fridge.

If you won’t cook it within three days, we recommend freezing it to lock in freshness and flavour. When ready to use, thaw the meat in the fridge for 24 hours to keep it cool and safe.

At Casa Argentina, we’re passionate about delivering the highest quality Argentine products with care and exceptional service.

If there’s ever an issue, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery. We’re committed to making it right—quickly and hassle-free.

Every order is more than just a delivery; it’s a connection to the heart and soul of Argentina. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we stand by the quality of our products and service.
