Each year, thousands of products from all over the world are blind tested by panels made up of chefs, critics, producers, food writers and retailers. No branding. No packaging. Just flavour.
So, when a product gets a star, it means something real. It means: this is good food, made properly.
And when we say that we’ve been awarded a Great Taste star for our Beef Empanadas, we don’t say it lightly. We say it with enormous gratitude, and a huge smile on our faces.

“Pretty looking, crimped empanadas that look handmade. They are well filled, and judges enjoyed the chunky filling which is well spiced and seasoned. Deep flavour and a good crispy pastry.
Attractive, plump pastries - well crimped, well browned and well filled. Judges loved the texture balance between the chunky yet moist interior and the light pastry. Judges also enjoyed the very particular and characterful set of flavours, not least the sweetness from well-cooked onions. Surprisingly filling and satisfying for a nicely sized, hand-held pastry - really well executed”.

Preheat oven to 200°C (fan).
Place frozen empanadas on a baking tray.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
