A refined, high-altitude Malbec from Tupungato, Mendoza

Rutini Trumpeter Reserve Malbec is a polished Argentine red wine from Tupungato, one of Mendoza’s best-known high-altitude wine areas. Made from 100% Malbec grapes and aged in French oak for 12 months, it is a rich yet balanced choice for anyone who enjoys smooth, fruit-led red wines with a little extra depth.
The 2023 vintage brings together ripe plum, cassis and wild strawberry notes, with a gentle floral lift and soft, juicy tannins. A period of French oak ageing adds structure and subtle complexity, while full malolactic fermentation helps create its rounded, creamy texture and long finish.
This is a great bottle to open for a barbecue, a Sunday roast or a dinner that calls for something a little more special. Enjoy it with steak, grilled beef, roast lamb, Argentine chorizo, empanadas, charcuterie or mature cheeses.

The story behind the wine

Trumpeter Reserve is a refined collection from Rutini Wines, one of Argentina’s most established wine producers. The wines are made from carefully selected grapes and see a measured period of contact with French and American oak, creating a balance of fruit, structure and finesse.
This Malbec comes from the high-altitude Tupungato area of Mendoza. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless-steel tanks to retain their fresh, fruit-forward character. The wine then completes malolactic fermentation and spends 12 months in French oak, with 20% new barrels and 80% second-use barrels, giving texture and complexity without overwhelming the Malbec fruit.
