A beautifully bold Malbec from the heights of Salta

Discover a different side of Argentine Malbec with Domingo Molina Malbec. Made high in the spectacular Calchaquí Valleys of Salta, at 2,000 to 2,200 metres above sea level, this is a characterful red with the freshness and concentration that only high-altitude vineyards can bring.

The grapes are hand-picked and carefully made in concrete tanks using local yeasts. A small portion of the wine is then rested in French oak for 12 months, adding a little extra depth and complexity while letting the Malbec fruit shine through.

If you enjoy rich, expressive red wines, this is a brilliant bottle to open with a hearty meal or share around the table. It is especially good with steak, grilled meats, Argentine asado, empanadas, rich pasta dishes and mature cheese.

Why you'll love it

•100% Malbec from Salta, Argentina
•Grown high in the mountains at up to 2,200 metres
•Hand-harvested for extra care in the vineyard
•A touch of French oak adds subtle complexity
•Made for steak nights, Sunday roasts and generous sharing platters

The story behind the wine

Domingo Molina comes from Salta in north-west Argentina, a region known for its dramatic mountain landscapes and some of the world's highest vineyards. The combination of intense sunshine during the day and cool nights helps the grapes develop concentrated flavour while retaining freshness.

The wine is made from grapes picked by hand in mid-March. After fermentation and a 20-day maceration, around 30% is aged for 12 months in second- and third-use French oak. It is a thoughtful approach that brings added complexity without overpowering the wine's high-altitude character.
