How to Cook Your Empanadas
Your easy guide to baking or frying our authentic Argentine empanadas
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COOKING
Our empanadas are raw pastries with ready-to-eat filling.
Your job? Just cook the pastry until it’s golden and crisp!
Depending on Logistics and season, you may receive your empanadas Frozen or Chilled
Raw Frozen – straight from the freezer, for long storage.
Raw Chilled – keep refrigerated and cook within a few days.
Bake in the Oven (Recommended)
The most authentic and easy method!
For Raw Frozen:
• Do NOT thaw. Bake straight from frozen.
• Preheat oven to 200°C (Fan 190°C).
• Place empanadas on a lined baking tray.
• Brush with egg wash for golden colour. (Optional)
• Bake for 15–18 minutes until the pastry is golden and crisp.
For Raw Chilled:
• Preheat oven to 200°C (Fan 180°C).
• Brush with egg wash.
• Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
Tip: For extra crunch, bake on a preheated tray or pizza stone!
Deep Fry (Crispy & Traditional)
A popular style in Northern Argentina!
For Raw Frozen:
• Let rest for 5–10 min at room temperature (do not fully thaw).
• Heat oil to 170–180°C.
• Fry for 3–4 minutes, until golden.
For Raw Chilled:
• Fry at 170–180°C for 2–3 minutes.
Tip: Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Air Fry (Light & Modern)
• Preheat air fryer to 180°C.
• Brush with oil or egg wash.
• Cook for 8–10 minutes (frozen) or 6–8 minutes (chilled), flipping halfway.
Grill / BBQ (Asado Style)
For a smoky twist!
• Wrap in foil or use a grill tray.
• Cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes per side, until pastry is fully cooked.
Serving Suggestions
• Serve hot with chimichurri, a fresh salad, or your favourite Argentine wine.
• Ideal for parties, family dinners, or a quick treat!
