A generous, full-flavoured Malbec for steak nights and lingering suppers

Pour a glass of Rutini Collection Malbec when you want a red with real presence: rich and deep-fruited, with cherry, currant and plum at its heart. Toast and vanilla add warming detail around the fruit, and the finish has a satisfying, gentle grip that keeps it feeling poised rather than lightweight.

It is a natural bottle to open alongside grilled or roasted red meat, where its depth can stand up to char and savoury juices. It will also feel at home with hard or semi-hard cheeses, a hearty lentil stew or a square of dark chocolate at the end of an unhurried dinner.

Why you’ll love it

  • A full, generous red for meals that call for more than an easy-drinking glass.
  • Ripe cherry, currant and plum character gives each sip a deep-fruited feel.
  • Toast and vanilla notes bring a warming, savoury-sweet layer around the fruit.
  • A refined feel and satisfying, gentle grip give it the presence to work beautifully with food.
  • A dependable choice for a proper steak night, Sunday roast-style supper or an unhurried cheese board.

The story behind the wine

Rutini’s roots reach back to 1885, when Felipe Rutini founded Bodega La Rural in Coquimbito, Maipú. An Italian immigrant from Ascoli Piceno, he brought winemaking knowledge to Mendoza; after his death, his wife and children continued the family legacy. That long history gives this bottle a connection to one of Mendoza’s established wine names without asking the drinker to know the backstory before enjoying it.

Rutini began planting vineyards in the Uco Valley around 1924, an early move into the part of Mendoza that is now central to this wine’s identity. For Collection Malbec, the fruit is sourced from Altamira, Gualtallary and La Consulta, three Uco Valley names brought together in one generously flavoured Malbec.

La Consulta is also home to one of Rutini’s estates, at the foot of the Andes. In the glass, the result is presented as a very intense red with violet tinges: a bottle that pairs a historic Mendoza producer with fruit from the Uco Valley.
